The San Francisco 49ers are clearly desperate for help on the edge with Mykel Williams on injured reserve as he recovers from ACL surgery and Sam Okuayinonu out with a foot injury.
While the 49ers are in Australia already for their Week 1 battle with the Los Angeles Rams next week at the Melbourne Cricket Grounds, they've signed a player to help them out.
According to FOX Sports' Greg Auman, San Francisco is signing veteran defensive end Khalid Kareem off of the Atlanta Falcons practice squad, and he's already on his way to Australia to meet the team.

It shouldn't take much for Kareem to get accustomed to the 49ers defense, as he spent the last two seasons playing under their defensive coordinator Raheem Mooris, who was the head coach of the Falcons.
