CNN halted its regular programming as the judge in the Lindsay Clancy case indicated that he would have to declare a mistrial.
On Friday, September 4, The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer interrupted its live broadcast to report on the ongoing murder trial. After jurors were reportedly deadlocked 11 to 1 after deliberating for 38 hours, Judge William Sullivan gave Lindsay's lawyer, Kevin Reddington, one hour to appeal for a stay after denying his request to replace the hold-out juror.
The mistrial comes after Lindsay Clancy's trial was thrown into chaos with a single juror who 'refused to listen.'

During the special broadcast, the jury foreperson handed their decision to the court, which read, "It is with a heavy heart that we report we are unable to come to a unanimous decision and will not be able to."
In an apparent Hail Mary move, Reddington requested an emergency appeal to the Supreme Judicial Court before the jury could be informed of the mistrial.

The 36-year-old is on trial for the murder of her three young children, with the jury tasked to determine whether or not she is criminally responsible for the crime, as she was reportedly suffering from postpartum psychosis, for which she was heavily medicated, at the time of the killings.
The case has attracted national attention and has sparked a discussion about postpartum mental illness.
