Dennis Quaid is feeling “very emotional” about his kids’ life milestones.
Speaking exclusively with PEOPLE at the Nashville screening of documentary Water Wars on Wednesday, Sept. 2, the 72-year-old actor discussed his son Jack Quaid’s recent wedding after opening up about dropping his 18-year-old twins, Thomas and Zoe, off at college.
Dennis said those two special moments reminded him of another major memory of The Boys star, 34, who wed Claudia Doumit in a low-key ceremony at Mona Farm in Braidwood, Australia, in April.

“It made me remember when I let Jack off at the airport when he went to [New York University in 2010],” Dennis recalled of Jack starting college.
The proud father continued, “It just, it really gets emotional. You remember everything all at once. That just takes you by surprise.”
Jack previously reminisced about his college era (he attended NYU Tisch School of the Arts starting 16 years ago before dropping out after three years) in a 2023 PEOPLE interview.
“I grew up with friends who also had parents in the industry, so it didn’t really feel different,” Jack said at the time, referring to his dad, Dennis, and mom, Meg Ryan, 64, who finalized their divorce in 2001 after 10 years of marriage.
“But then you grow up, and you realize that’s a pretty unique thing, that not one but two of your parents are actors,” Jack added. “You don’t realize that things are slightly abnormal until later.”
