Idris Elba has many prestigious titles — Sir, Golden Globe winner, Sexiest Man Alive, the list goes on — but to his daughter and son, he’s simply Dad.
The actor, who celebrates his 54th birthday on Sept. 6, 2026, welcomed his first child, daughter Isan, in 2002 with ex-wife Hanne “Kim” Nørgaard. In 2014, he became a father of two when his then-girlfriend Naiyana Garth gave birth to son Winston.
“They’re a part of me,” he told PEOPLE of his kids in 2017, explaining that his children are “the reason” he’s motivated to work. “When it’s a hard day and I think about bringing them up, I go, ‘Thank you for existing so I have a purpose.’ ”
While Winston has been raised mostly out of the spotlight, Isan is no stranger to the red carpet and has made a name for herself as an entrepreneur and DJ. Ahead, see rare photos of Elba’s public outings with Isan and Winston over the years.
