Vice President JD Vance acknowledged he does not "keep track" of every person deported by the Department of Homeland Security after being questioned about the removal of British political commentator Milo Yiannopoulos.
Vance made the remark during a White House press briefing Wednesday after Daily Wire reporter Mary Margaret Olohan asked whether he or President Donald Trump had been involved in Yiannopoulos’ deportation and when he first learned about it. The exchange was captured in the official briefing.
Vance said, "Yeah, so on Milo, I won't speak for the president, but I, I found out, I think like so many others found out, if you can imagine we are because the last administration brought in so many illegal aliens. I don't keep track of every single person that DHS deports. So I found about it, out about it publicly." Milo claimed 15 ICE agents swarmed him at airport.

He added, "I'm not sure if the president knew about it beforehand, but I'm sure we can follow up with the president and get you an answer to that question. It's interesting. I didn't expect to be asked that. That's one thing I did not talk to him about before I came out here for the briefing."
The "I don't keep track" remark quickly drew criticism on social media after video of Vance’s answer circulated online.

One X user responded, "Yea....... thats an ENORMOUS PROBLEM... you cant keep track of the people you boot out? How many Americans ended up on the nonexistent list of booted people?"
Another wrote, "Every answer that this couch f--ker gives lays blame on the last administration. Is it just a republican thing to never take responsibility?"
A separate commenter said people were "getting used to him lying with a straight face," while another wrote: "Smug git. Until it touches him personally, he just won’t care."
Others focused on Vance’s reference to the Biden administration. One commenter joked, "He came in under Trump.." while another wrote, "Bwahahahahahaha . . . now he's saying Biden and the Dems smuggled in Milo Yiannopoulos."

Yiannopoulos, 41, was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport on August 27 and deported to the United Kingdom the following day.
DHS said he legally entered the U.S. in May 2019 but overstayed his authorized period. An immigration judge issued a final removal order July 22 after he failed to appear for a hearing.
Yiannopoulos had previously advocated for stricter immigration enforcement, including ICE checkpoints and large-scale deportations.
