Jennifer Aniston appears to be living her best life alongside her boyfriend Jim Curtis, but her close circle is reportedly divided in their opinions about her romantic relationship.

Aniston, 57, has been romantically linked to the 50-year-old wellness coach for over a year, and it appears her tight-knit circle isn’t completely ā€œsoldā€ on him, according to a new report from Page Six.

The skepticism comes after Aniston and Curtis appeared at a joint event at New York City’s 92nd Street Y on Wednesday, Sept. 2, where the Friends star interviewed her boyfriend about his new self-help guide, The Book of Possibility. It comes as Dolly Parton did not want to appear in Jennifer Aniston's 9-5 remake for telling reason.

ā€œSome of Jen’s friends aren’t totally sold on Jim yet,ā€ one source told Page Six. ā€œThey worry he could be an opportunist and feel like he can come off a bit performative.ā€

The source expressed to the outlet that those close to Aniston want what’s best for her and will make her happy. The Page Six source also characterized her famously tight-knit circle as being protective of her as they ā€œdon’t ever want to see her get taken advantage of.ā€

ā€œSome of them are just having a difficult time fully trusting him right now,ā€ claimed, according to Page Six.

However, not everyone is skeptical of Aniston’s relationship with the hypnotist, as a second source told Page Six that her friends ā€œabsolutely adoreā€ Curtis and feel like he has fit in naturally with the group. The source also claimed that Aniston has not appeared this happy for some time.

While they initially kept their relationship private in the public spotlight, they have recently become more open about their connection in interviews and at joint events.

The first time that The Morning Show star was photographed with Curtis was in July 2025, when they were spotted vacationing together on a yacht trip in Mallorca, Spain. They were on the trip with Jason Bateman, his wife Amanda Anka, and Courteney Cox.

Not long after, they were spotted again in New York City with Bateman and Anka for a double date, as reported by People at the time.

By November 2025, Aniston made things Instagram official to celebrate Curtis’ 50th birthday. She shared a black-and-white photo of the actress hugging Curtis from behind as they both flashed smiles at the camera.

They also appeared to spend the holidays together, as Aniston shared a photo dump featuring one picture of Curtis as he smiled with holding a baby.

In January 2026, Curis opened up about his friends-to-lovers love story with the actress in an interview with the Today show.

"The origin story? We were just introduced by friends," Curtis said on the Today show. "Yeah that’s it, we found out that we had mutual friends, and we started to just chat. It took a long time. We chatted for a long time, and we became close."

The couple has been sharing even more insight into their relationship in recent weeks, as Aniston’s boyfriend appeared on the Aug. 31 episode of The Jamie Kern Lima Show, speaking about her tight-knit group of friends.

He described her close circle as a ā€œgroup of best friends that are like family.ā€ Curtis added: ā€œI feel incredibly blessed to be part [of] and welcomed into that family.ā€

According to Curtis, overall, his relationship with Aniston is ā€œgoing really well.ā€
