Lewis Hamilton may be smitten with Kim Kardashian, but one of the reality star’s closest friends says dating her comes with a level of attention unlike anything the Formula One champion has experienced before.
Jonathan Cheban, better known by his legal name and persona Foodgod, said the pair appear perfectly matched as speculation continues over whether their romance could eventually lead to marriage.
The reality television personality and entrepreneur, who appeared on Keeping Up with the Kardashians, spoke exclusively to Mirror US on the red carpet at The Hollywood Creative Alliance’s 2026 Astra TV Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday night.

"I really think that they are a beautiful couple, and it looks like they fit perfectly. So I hope the best for her. She is an amazing person. I actually, spoke to her yesterday and she was really happy."
"I love her and I don't ask (too much) . I kind of stay out of that because I've been through it a bunch of times. But I also love Kanye."
Cheban said Hamilton, who has traditionally kept his romantic life away from the spotlight, could face a very different experience if his relationship with Kardashian becomes increasingly serious.

Hamilton has previously been linked to several famous women, including Rihanna, and had a long-term relationship with singer Nicole Scherzinger.
But Cheban said Kardashian’s level of celebrity brings a degree of scrutiny that few people experience.
"Yeah, hers is even still a different type of fame than pretty much anybody else's. And I don't know if anybody is able to handle the 24-hour fame."
"A lot of people are famous, but they don't get followed, and they don't care about what they're wearing, what they look like every second of the day. So, to me, that's a different kind of fame, and I don't know if anybody is ready for it. So maybe Tom Cruise. God, I love him. "

Asked whether an engagement could be on the horizon, Cheban joked that he has already witnessed several major chapters in Kardashian’s personal life.
"I don't want to say too much because when I talk about people's love lives or marriages, I get in trouble. But they are a hot couple."
Cheban attended the television awards as HBO Max medical drama The Pitt collected seven trophies. "Comedy" picked up five awards, while Hacks and Shrinking each won four.
The entrepreneur is also developing further television plans while continuing to build his Foodgod brand.
"It has changed my life so that I don't depend on anybody. I'm like my own entity. So like, it doesn't matter what I do or don't do. I'm always just Food God. I was the first person to start doing videos of viral food and kind of making that big over-the-top stuff like pancakes and over-the-top, kind of crazy stuff."
