Maria Bartiromo’s Attorney Claims Reports She Was Fired ‘Or No Longer’ a Fox Employee Are ‘False’

The attorney for Fox Business anchor Maria Bartiromo put out a stunning statement Friday saying reports the veteran anchor was fired or is no longer with Fox are “false.”
CNN’s Brian Stelter reported on X:
Bryan Freedman confirms he is representing Maria Bartiromo and says:
“For many years, Maria Bartiromo hosted three number one rated television shows on Fox channels. She has been, without question, one of the hardest working journalists throughout her award winning career.”
“The irresponsible reports that have been published stating that Maria Bartiromo was fired or is no longer an employee of Fox are absolutely and unequivocally false. Make no mistake, we have the receipts and witnesses and they will come out whether through the courthouse or otherwise. Those reporting her firing or the incredulous facts supporting that fiction have exhibited a complete and utter reckless disregard for the truth.”
Fox announced in a press release Thursday that it was parting ways with Bartiromo, writing, “We thank Maria for her work over the last 12 ½ years and wish her all the best on her next chapter.”
Mediaite confirmed that Fox News Media also parted ways with Bartiromo’s top producer Patrick Ignozzias well, after an explosive report that Bartiromo, 58, had allegedly shared confidential internal guidance about the network’s coverage of President Donald Trump with the White House.

In 2023, Freedman was named to Mediaite’s Most Influential in News Media list.
The article called him a “one of the most powerful – and most feared – people in the media industry.”
“If you’re a big-name media personality involuntarily exiting your employment (there were a lot of those this year) Freedman is the guy you call to make sure your defenestration comes with a financially-cushioned landing,” the article said, continuing:
Freedman previously negotiated lucrative severance packages for Megyn Kelly from NBC, Chris Harrison from The Bachelor franchise, and is still fighting for Chris Cuomo in his separation from CNN. Two of the biggest media stories this year were the ousters of Tucker Carlson from Fox News and Don Lemon from CNN, and while those two cable news hosts don’t seem to have a lot in common, they both jumped to sign representation agreements with the pitbull attorney. Carlson’s departure was certainly the splashier of the two (at least from what we know from public reporting and various leaks), with Freedman sending a fiery letter right out of the gate to Fox arguing that the non-compete provision in the former top-rated host’s contract wasn’t enforceable and threatening to sue if the network tried to block him from launching his new show on The Platform Formerly Known as Twitter. Bryan Freedman remains, more than anyone else in the industry, the last phone call any network wants to get.
