This is not the only time a celebrity has gotten in hot water for referencing JFK’s assassination in their Halloween costume. Last year, Julia Fox defended her costume after receiving criticism for dressing up as a bloodied Jackie Kennedy after her husband was shot.
Donning a pink skirt suit and matching pillbox hat stained with fake blood, Fox stepped out as the former First Lady during an event for Urban Decay. The former president’s grandson Jack Schlossberg slammed the costume as “glorifying political violence” and called it “disgusting, desperate and dangerous.”

Responding to the backlash, Fox called her costume “a statement.” She said that Jackie Kennedy’s decision to remain in her pink suit after the assassination created an image of “beauty and horror” and “poise and devastation.”
“Her decision not to change clothes, even after being encouraged to, was an act of extraordinary bravery,” Fox wrote on Instagram last October. “It was performance, protest, and mourning all at once. A woman weaponizing image and grace to expose brutality. It’s about trauma, power, and how femininity itself is a form of resistance.”
