The Brooklyn Nets have already played some summer league basketball, but most of the fans are especially looking forward to the Nets playing in the Las Vegas Summer League for everyone to see. While Brooklyn is hoping to see something from every player that steps on the floor wearing their uniform, there are two players that most people around the league are focused on.
"The Nets made five first-round picks in 2025, but Egor Demin is the only one to make this list. He was also the first selected of the bunch at eighth overall, and certainly the one who flashed the most promise this past season," Zach Buckley wrote of Nets guard Egor Demin for Bleacher Report. Buckley ranked Demin as the 14th-best prospect in the Vegas summer league while ranking guard Mikel Brown Jr. seventh on the same list.
"By upside alone, there's a real chance this ranking sits a few spots short of where Mikel Brown Jr. should stand," Buckley continued. "He didn't have quite enough flashes at Louisville to justify landing higher—he battled both inconsistency and a (possibly related?) back injury—but those glimpses were jaw-droppers. Brown can and will launch from anywhere, and his risk-taking as a passer is often just as audacious.."

Demin, 20, is having an impressive summer league thus far as shown by Monday's 100-79 win over Golden State Warriors Blue when he dropped 23 points, eight rebounds, and five assists. Demin will likely be in the lineup to start their slate in Las Vegas, but he could be on the edge of convincing the Nets that there is noting left to see from him prior to training camp in the fall.
Brown, 20, is in a slightly different position from Demin given that he still has to prove that he could contribute for Brooklyn when the times comes in the regular season. The good news is that the Nets are still trying to evaluate Demin and Brown and whether either player continues to impress in the summer league or not, people around the league are looking forward to watching the young backcourt duo make a difference.
