Bournemouth starting XI:
Djordje Petrovic: Little he could do for Harvey Barnes' goal, but otherwise a relatively comfortable afternoon. 6
Adam Smith: Played a role in Marcus Tavernier's opener by nudging the ball to Alex Scott in the build-up. Tested on one or two moments defensively, but still showing his value at 35. 6
James Hill: Solid. Has already become a very important player for manager Marco Rose. 6
Antonio Silva: Took a nasty blow to the head from Anthony Elanga's shoulder, but the summer signing shook it off. 6
Adrien Truffert: Coped expertly with the in-form Elanga and caused Amar Dedic real problems going the other way. 7
Tyler Adams: First competitive start under Marco Rose. Could have got closer to Barnes for Newcastle's goal, but hard to see him coming out of the side after this display. 7
Alex Scott: So influential. Played a key role in both of his side's goals. Passing and vision stood out throughout. 8
Rayan: Not as effective as he was in the corresponding fixture last season. Rose was roaring at him at one stage. 5

Marcus Tavernier: Showed great anticipation to put the visitors in front. He's now scored in each of his past three trips to St James' Park. Could have netted a couple on this visit. 7
Justin Kluivert: Helped set up Bournemouth's crucial second goal after boldly letting fly from 35 yards out. Always a handful. 7
Evanilson: Had a real battle with Sven Botman. Missed a couple of decent chances but worked hard throughout. 6
Bournemouth substitutes:
Lewis Cook (on 74, Adams): 6
David Brooks (on 74, Kluivert): 6
Subs not used:
Michele Di Gregorio, Julio Soler, Ryan Christie, Ben Gannon-Doak, Bafode Diakite, Juanlu Sanchez, Daniel Jebbison
