Prince William and Prince Harry arenāt thought to have been in contact since their grandmother Queen Elizabethās September 2022 funeral four years ago.
A sticking point for the future king remains how Harry wrote about Kate Middleton in his 2023 memoir, Spare.
Royal biographer Robert Jobson said that the Prince of Wales āwasnāt preparedā to let those comments slide.
The relationship between brothers Prince William and Prince Harry has been described as āso brokenāāand a major sticking point for William is reportedly the treatment of his wife, Kate Middleton, in the pages of Harryās 2023 memoir, Spare.
In the book, Harry described Kate as āthe sister Iād always wanted,ā but then detailed moments of tension, specifically between the Princess of Wales and Harryās wife, Meghan Markle. According to royal biographer Robert Jobson, the Prince of Wales ācould takeā comments being made about himself by his younger brother, but comments about Kate crossed the line.

William, Jobson said, āwasnāt preparedā to let those comments made by Harry about Kate slide, the biographer told Hello!. Harry and Meghan, along with their children, are now back on U.K. soil and in closer physical proximity to members of the royal family than theyāve been in over six yearsābut Harryās words about the future queen didnāt go ādown too well,ā Jobson told the outlet.
Speaking about William, he said, āI think he could take a lot of things being said about him, but he wasnāt prepared to have things said about her when sheās not in a position to answer back.ā

That said, Jobson believes that the Prince and Princess of Wales are āgoing to rise above all this. I donāt think theyāre going to be involved in a tit-for-tat.ā
āI donāt think that, because Harry and Meghan are here making a bit of noise, thatās going to necessarily make them do anything,ā he added of William and Kate. āI think that theyāll probably think, well, weāve been down this road before. It creates a circus, and weāre not going to get involved.ā

Other reportsālike one from The Sunday Timesāindicate that itās Harryās writings about Kate that leaves William āunlikely to forgive Harry anytime soon.ā
āThose close to William say his brother rarely comes up in conversation,ā a source told the outlet.

A recent report from People indicates that the Prince and Princess of Wales are resisting any āknee-jerk reactionā to Harry and Meghanās return to the U.K. A close friend told the publication, āThey are watching this space. Itās privateāthey donāt feel the need to say anything or demonstrate anything outwardly.ā
Any type of reconciliation, the friend added, āwill be a slow build. There is a deep sense of betrayal.ā William and Harry arenāt thought to have been in contact since their grandmother Queen Elizabethās September 2022 funeralāfour years ago this month.
The consensus seems to be that āWilliam and Catherine will continue their lives of public service,ā a friend of the couple told The Daily Mail. āThey intend to lead by example.ā

Jobson added that growing royal responsibilities will take precedence for William and Kate, telling Hello!, āWilliam will take the lead, but itās going to be a team effort. So I think theyāre very focused on whatās ahead of them.ā
