Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler are the top two golfers on the planet, and their respective net worths reflect it.

Scheffler overtook Tiger Woods as the all-time highest earner in the history of the PGA Tour by winning the 2026 Tour Championship, bringing his career earnings past the $130 million mark.

The world No. 1 golfer’s net worth still pales in comparison to that of McIlroy, who has been in professional golf more than a decade longer than Scheffler and reaped the rewards of it through prize money and endorsements.

The Northern Irishman currently boasts an estimated net worth of $350 million, according to various online sources. Scheffler, meanwhile, has a net worth of $150 million.

Since going pro in 2007, McIlroy has earned a large chunk of his net worth through tournament prize money. At the end of the 2026 PGA Tour season, he ranks third on the tour’s all-time earnings list at $119.5 million, trailing only Woods ($120.9 million) and Scheffler ($130.3 million).

Where the back-to-back Masters champion separates himself from Scheffler is his almost two-decade run as one of the global faces of golf, which has brought him numerous lucrative endorsement deals.

McIlroy is estimated to generate up to $50 million in off-course revenue each year through his partnerships with Nike, TaylorMade, and other corporate partners. The 37-year-old has also made roughly $80 million in earnings from the DP World Tour, making him the circuit’s all-time top earner.

Like any high-net-worth individual, McIlroy is also believed to have investments across various industries, including real estate and other business ventures, such as TMRW Sports, the company that launched the indoor golf league TGL.

Scheffler, 30, may ultimately match McIlroy’s impressive wealth, but it could take another decade at his current level to do so.

The Texas native’s estimated net worth is almost entirely made up of his PGA Tour earnings, and, as evidenced by him already passing Woods on the all-time list, PGA Tour event purses are as high as they have ever been since the introduction of Signature Events.

Scheffler has various endorsement deals, too, including with Nike, TaylorMade, Titleist, and Rolex, which earn him between $20 to $25 million annually, according to online sources.

Unlike McIlroy, he does not have a long track record of competing on the DP World Tour, with his estimated $25 million earnings from the circuit coming entirely from his performances in the four major championships.

Scheffler is also known to have a special agreement with his caddie, Ted Scott, that has netted him more money than many PGA Tour professionals.

Both Scheffler and McIlroy have also garnered tens of millions via the PGA Tour’s Player Equity Program, which was introduced in 2024 to reward player loyalty during a time many players were defecting to LIV Golf.
