'Price is Right' contestant wins record prize on Mother's Day episode

"The Price is Right" has been a television staple in America for more than 50 years, but its contestants are still making history in 2026.

During a special edition Mother's Day airing of the long-running game show, a contestant named Vanesa McCaskell set a daytime record when she walked away with nearly $250,000 in what was the biggest single pricing-game win in the show's history.

During the new "Lion's Share" portion of the show, McCaskell hit on back-to-back $100,000 prizes to bring her total up to $227,500. All five of her balls, the last two representing her daughter's birthday, were winners. She chose to continue with her final ball, ultimately winning a mother-daughter trip to Morocco that brought the total value of her winnings up to $240,150.

Though the episode aired in May, it was reportedly taped back in December. McCaskell's winning amount easily eclipsed the previous single-show record of $210,000, which was set in 2016.
