'So they can wear 'em to dinner:' Aces' championship rings feature unique quirk

To celebrate the Las Vegas Aces’ third championship in four years, owner Mark Davis clearly spared no expense on a thoughtful and potentially trendsetting design.
Davis was tasked with opening remarks for the team’s ring ceremony ahead of Saturday's season opener against the Phoenix Mercury, the Aces' 2025 WNBA Finals foe. Instead of a lengthy speech, Davis handed the microphone to a Jostens representative, who shared all the specs of the commemorative jewelry the Aces were waiting to unveil.
Set in 14 karat white gold with more than 500 white and black diamonds to fit the team’s color scheme, the rings are nearly 11 carats --- but that’s not the kicker.
After the players opened the rings, Davis announced the coolest feature on his own.
Although they share the same bulky square silhouette as any standard championship ring at first glance, the Aces’ are two pieces in one. From the middle, the top pops off to reveal another smaller and sleeker ring.
According to Jostens, the built-in additional custom fashion ring is the first of its kind.
This feature is specifically for the women in the organization, Davis said.

“There's one for the men coaches,” Davis said. “For the women, we always felt that they are big and they're kind of tough to wear out.”
He stopped for a moment to show four-time MVP A’ja Wilson and head coach Becky Hammon how to open the rings up, leading Wilson’s jaw to drop.
“Now they can wear ‘em to dinner!” Davis gleefully exclaimed.
In other details, the rings include three one-carat diamonds on the top to commemorate their 2022, 2023 and 2025 titles.
On the left side, each recipient’s name and position is featured in white gold to frame their diamond encrusted jersey number. The motto for the Aces’ most recent title, “ALL IN” is also included on the right side with more diamonds above the WNBA logo.
"This is truly amazing," Wilson said once it was her turn to speak. "We want to thank all the fans here and everywhere that supported us through every single game, every journey that we've been through. We are forever thankful and grateful. God has truly blessed us to be in this situation, to get us three or four years, and now we got some work to do."
